As part of the company’s deal with the city of TAC by Schneider has agreedx to enhance the conservation measures insidre seven ofthe city'z 271 buildings selected for the project. The deal is a follow-ul initiative to Houston’s decision to become a C40 city to revamlp city facilities under the ClintonbClimate Initiative’s Building Retrofit Program.
“Buildings are responsible for more than 50 percenf of greenhouse gas emissions inmost cities, so retrofittinhg our facilities with more energy-efficient products and technologie is an important way we can reduce both energt use and greenhouse gas emissions,” said Jeff Drees, presiden of TAC Americas. “Our solutionsa are based on the latest technologies and includerenewabld energy, indoor environmental quality improvement, sustainablew design and more.” TAC estimates its retrofittingv initiatives allow buildings to use 20 percenft to 30 percent less energy.
TAC added that its retrofiy project involving public facilities may make it possible for Housto n to lower its CO2 carbobn emissions by upto 1,647
