The company has hired Juliaa Gregory, the former executive vice president and chief financial officerat , as replacement. Maderis’ health condition was not but she will continue to serve onFive Prime’w board of directors and as a consultant. Maderis said the compan had been looking for a replacement sincw late last year after doctorssaid "the 24/7 pace of a small-compant CEO" could worsen her Besides her duties at Five Prime, Maderi s has been a cheerleader for the Mission Bay serving on the Mayor’s . Five Prime, a privatelh held, 7-year-old company developing antibody and proteinn drugs for cancer andother diseases, was the first to locatr in Mission Bay, taking about 30,000p feet in the building on Owenes Street. Earlier this year, it took an additional 5,000 square feet next door at 1700 Owensx as it makes batches for its Phasse I oncologydrug program.

At Lexicon, Gregory was responsible for financing strategies, mergers and acquisitions, business operations and all financiakl management and accounting.
