The national average price of a gallonj of gas was up by just three centss compared to theprevious week. in Florida it was up by five cents a gallonjto $2.71. Just a month ago the averagre price of a gallon of regularf in Floridawas $2.40. The averaged price was $2.77 in both Fort Lauderdalew and Miami. In West Palm a gallon of regularr unleaded is goingfor $2.80. The good news is that gasolinew futures are going down because the Department of Energy reported a surplus of fuel and demand is weak, noted Gregg Laskoski, managing directot of public relations for AAA Auto Club On the flip side, “as we saw last the price at the pump doesn’g always reflect supply and demand fundamentals,” he said.
Laskoski addeds that while prices may plateau in comingvweeks “nobody can accurately predicgt when the value of the U.S. dollar will increase or decrease; but we do know that when it decreaseds crude oil and gasoline prices usually go up no mattefr how favorable the supplyg and demand figuresmay seem,” he
