CAD software maker Revware buys MicroScribe from Immersion Corp. - Portland Business Journal:

CAD in an acronym for computer-aided Immersion has several business lines with productw developed for applications ranging from gamintg tomedical uses. Revware presidentg Tom Welsh said that his company has been using MicroScribe products for 15 yearsz and when he saw that Immersion was looking tosell MicroScribe, he jumped on the “We are going to be able to focus on MicroScribwe in a way that Immersiobn was not able to,” Welsh said.
Revwar e was formerly known as , a company that was a softwars developer as well as a reselledr of the SolidWorks CAD The company grew in the 1990s along with the technologuy bubble andin 2001, Designh Automation made Triangle Business Journal’s annual ranking of the 50 fastest-growin companies in the Raleigh-Durham area. Welsh said Design which peaked at15 employees, had pared down since the technologyy bubble burst. Revware has fewer than five employees. Welsh said with the acquisitiobof MicroScribe, the company will grow in Raleign and on the West Coast. But he declinesd to elaborate, saying that negotiationsa are stillunder way.
Welsh did say Revwarr is taking steps to reactivate resale channelzfor MicroScribe.
